以OAI 為基礎之5G基地台研究

(OAI-based 5G eNB)

       開放式無線接取通訊軟體平台的價值在於容易對核心網路以及交換機界接,使得我們研發的技術更有彈性,能夠快速與世界接軌。

5年與所提研究主題相關之研究績效

      本中心OAI團隊實質參與國際重要5G基地台開源軟體計畫OAI與EURECOM合作,做出關鍵的貢獻,所開發技術(將OAI軟體eNB的傳輸由低於10Mbps增加到超過70Mbps)已具世界領先優勢。同時,我們過去在LTE基地台做了許多前瞻的研究,包括:協助中華電信推出全世界第一個商業化的LWA服務 [1] [2]以及發展出全世界成本最低的small cell省電機制 [3] [4]。我們提出許多基地台的創新機制 [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11],這些成果將會一一實現在OAI為基礎之5G基地台研究。為了加速研發,於2016年與2017年派遣三組團隊到EURECOM直接加入OAI開發,其中台灣科技大學負責與思科、Facebook、TCL、B-COM共同開發NB-IOT的排程控制器、NB-IOT的eNB整合測試、修改nFAPI介面以統一未來eNB切片的資料鍵結,目前已完成MAC-PHY、RRC-MAC、RLC-MAC介面程式設計,並經由OAI開放原始碼提供全世界使用。另外兩組團隊由交通大學負責提升eNB性能,並協助EURECOM進行軟體調校與架構更新,包括功率控制模組化、多工運算程序、多工使用者入網程序、多使用者管理程序以及空白SIM連線。

短中長期效益目標

      分項A研發的OAI軟體基地台速度會超越標竿單位EURECOM,以開源方式回饋全世界,並保留機密技術提供國內廠商。

短期目標:在建置OAI軟體基地台架構方面,以完成符合4G LTE傳輸為目標。

中期目標:透過與EURECOM之OAI合作,提供程式碼自由下載研究,達到至少10萬次下載量。

長期目標:建構未來5G全軟體基地台技術,符合5G未來高彈性、高容量、雲端化等需求。
